Types of Opportunities​

If you love the group and are looking to give back to the community, there is a range of ways that you can do that. We talk more about that on the Support Us Page, but it includes showing up, sharing your Social Run Club (SRC) Story with friends, engaging with SRC on instagram and posting about us. It also includes coming to paid events, becoming up a Supporter, buying gear, donating to SRC or even Sponsoring SRC

On the page, we're going to talk about the best ways to volunteer with SRC and how to get involved. We have a bunch of ways to volunteer. These are the opportunities:

• Captains - These members lead regular runs, they've been around for awhile and know the best ways to connect with people. 

• Pace Leaders - They lead pace groups and know the routes. They're friendly and help to help people stay on track during the runs.

• Welcome Committee - They understand how tough it can be to show up for the first time, so they help people meet other runners in the community.

• Social Leads - They plan small socials for the group. This could be trying a new restaurant going to a street festival or even going to a comedy night.

• Board of Directors - These are our board members, they provide guidence and oversight to keep this organization running.

When Do Opportunities Come Up?​

Generally speaking, we look for volunteers twice a year, usually in May and November to start in July and January respectively.  So check back then. We'll post the positions available and information on how to apply.

For the Board of Directors, the positions come up as Directors complete their term or resign. There is no regular schedule for them.

If you're excited to give back, one of the best things you can do is exemplify the SRC values and show up to runs. Here is a quick checklist for you:

• Show up to runs and meet people

• Meet the volunteers and ask them about their experiences

• Come to the events
